First CSA pickup of the season at the Intervale Community Farm

It was a rainy start to summer here on the East Coast and the Winooski river outside our office at the Chace Mill is the highest I’ve seen it since hurricane Irene.

In an effort to eat more locally grown food and eliminate GMOs from our diet, my little family purchased a small share ($460 for the summer -> fall) to the Intervale Community Farm Cooperative. It works out to about $25 per week for a bounty of organically grown produce and access to delicious artisan cheese, meats and breads, and it’s another chance to support the cooperative economy!

We fought off the skeeters and picked a few bunches of dill, scallions and cilantro to go along with our share, and I picked up some delicious goats cheese from Doe’s Leap, yum!

Voila!! Our first dinner from the CSA, looking forward to many more this summer :)
